Dental Facial Aesthetics
Enhance and balance your face to frame your beautiful smile.

A beautiful and youthful smile is far more than just teeth. Who doesn’t want to improve their natural beauty. Aging, poor health and sun exposure causes dehydration and deterioration of the skin with associated loss of facial volume and dimension. Here at Dental 206 we do not just look after your oral health but as a healthcare professional we can help you restore the health of your skin, your youthfulness and enhance your facial features. Since it is common knowledge that skin cancers make up to 80% of diagnosed cancers it is our duty to make our patients aware of any abnormalities in the facial area.

Restoring only your smile is still just a “tooth makeover” but thanks to modern science and technology we can help you look vibrant and add value to one of your most important assets, your face.

Cosmetic injections and dermal fillers.

Dr Johan Kriek is trained and certified by AADFA (Australian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics) to provide anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers to assit our patients with any health or aesthetic problems they may be experiencing across their facial region.

Owing to superior knowledge of facial anatomy; daily practical experience dealing with the functional and aesthetic aspects of the muscles of the face; and an ability to provide accurate and comfortable injections; Dentists are the most qualified people to be providing facial injections.

Knowing where all the nerves, blood vessels and facial muscles are is crucial to not only good results, but a reduction in potential complications. Dentists work in and around the face all day and are well versed in the associated facial and dental relationships which cannot be separated from one another. They have expertise in local anaesthetics and can help to achieve profound anaesthesia so that you don’t have to endure painful procedures.

Dentists have a thorough knowledge of the underlying supportive skeletal structures. For instance; in a facial deficiency where the lower face looks short, it can be a dental or jaw problem that should be corrected by opening the bite dimensions, orthodontics or even ortho-gnathic surgery in severe cases. This where your dentist has the knowledge to diagnose correctly because the facial soft tissues need to be supported by correct skeletal and dental structures.

Each patient is assessed individually through a process of “face mapping” or measuring. Although some facial improvement can be achieved from a random facial injectable, it is important to have a “global” view of dental-facial aesthetics and look at the face as a whole when planning treatment. Rather than simply trying to restore individual imperfections in the face we take steps towards revitalizing the entire face achieving optimal “beauty” and proportions for each patient. This way we can thoughtfully combat the aging process.

We, therefore, don’t try to give everybody the same lips or cheeks but examine each individual and using sound mathematical principles to bring out the best in each patient; maximizing their beauty and enhancing the proportions of their face as close as possible to their ideal facial contours within the blueprint of their face.
